Krešimir Krsnik was born in 1956 in Zagreb. He graduated from the Faculty of law of the University of Zagreb. At the very beginning of his professional career he dealt with the most demanding cases in the field of criminal law. As a defense lawyer he took part in the most exposed criminal cases, of which many have influenced the jurisprudence of the Croatian judiciary. He was one of the first Croatian lawyers engaged as a defense attorney before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and also one of the few who appeared before the Tribunal in more than one case. He is one of the founders and first vice-president of the Association of Defense Counsel Practicing before the ICTY (ADC-ICTY). He is honorary member of the Professional association of Criminalists in Croatia.
